FAQs

Your questions, answered

Everything you need to know before your first visit. Still unsure? Just give us a call.

No. Physiotherapy is a self-referral profession, so you can book directly without seeing your GP first. If you're claiming through private health insurance, some insurers ask for a GP referral before your first appointment — we recommend checking your policy, and we're happy to advise.
Wear loose, comfortable clothing that lets us access and move the area being treated. For lower-limb or back problems, shorts are ideal; for shoulder or neck issues, a vest top helps. Your comfort and dignity are always respected.
Most people need between 3 and 6 sessions, though this varies with the condition and how long it's been present. Simple problems can resolve in 1–2 sessions; long-standing issues may take longer. After your first assessment you'll get an honest estimate and a clear treatment plan — we never sell sessions you don't need.
We treat back, neck, joint and muscle pain, sports injuries, arthritis and rheumatology, hand injuries, chronic fatigue, and orthopaedic and post-injury problems. We also offer acupuncture, pain management and workplace health assessments.
We're transparent about pricing with no hidden fees, and you'll always know the cost before you commit. Please call 07775 797525 for our current session fees.
Your first appointment is a full assessment. We take a detailed history, examine how you move, and diagnose the cause of your problem — not just the symptoms. You'll usually begin hands-on treatment the same session and leave with a clear plan and exercises to start at home.
Yes — back pain is one of the most common problems we treat. Physiotherapy addresses the root cause, whether that's a joint, disc, muscle imbalance or posture issue, using a mix of hands-on treatment, targeted exercise and advice. The large majority of back pain settles without injections or surgery when treated early and correctly.
We're at 6 Mulberry Mews, Newtownabbey BT37 0GT, easily reached from Glengormley, Jordanstown and north Belfast. Appointments are arranged by phone, so please call 07775 797525 before you visit.
